Meet our Partner – Akim Engineering
Today we are joined by Ilhan Bozdeniz, PMP and Senior Primavera & Project Management Consultant that works at Akim Engineering, a renowned team of project professionals that specialize in providing project management and planning services using the Primavera software since 1993.
Ilhan, thank you for joining us. Can you tell us a bit more about yourself and the company Akim Engineering.
- We, as AKIM Engineering team also thank you for the opportunity of great cooperation with ScheduleReader so far. I am an experienced civil engineer who focused on project management and planning in Oracle Primavera products since 1998. Akim Engineering was founded in 1993 and we provide Oracle Primavera licenses & Primavera trainings as well as project planning and scheduling consulting services. Our passion is to ensure project success for all clients and build awareness for project management.
Akim Engineering is a company with headquarters in Turkey. Do your business operations expand beyond Turkey, as well?
- Yes, absolutely we do. We are officially based in Turkey however we provide primavera trainings and Primavera project scheduling services to worldwide. We do currently have clients from Canada, United States of America, Europe, and Middle East as well.
You are also a certified Primavera trainer and provide training for companies and individuals on how to use the Primavera P6 scheduling software in different settings. Do you have requests for teaching project professionals how to use other tools that complement the Primavera products, such as ScheduleReader?
- Yes, I am also a certified Primavera trainer and I enjoy working with planning engineers and teaching project management with Oracle Primavera very much. Planning tools such Primavera and ScheduleReader are essential for every company who cares about project success. So, I do always recommend using ScheduleReader which is immensely powerful tool that makes project reporting and updating easier.
You have worked with us as a partner and an official product reseller for the ScheduleReader software for a long time, and together we have helped many companies improve the way they communicate schedule information. Over the past years, ScheduleReader has grown into a solution that can not only be used to dynamically view the data from existing XER and XML files but also analyze and report project data in different ways. What were your first impressions of ScheduleReader and how do you see the product integrated today?
- Akim Engineering has always been a motivated partner and reseller for the ScheduleReader for long time. To be honest, I was suspicious at first place when I was told about ScheduleReader. Since Akim Engineering always offers the best and reliable solutions to our customer, I personally wanted to try and assess ScheduleReader functionality for a while by myself as an experienced planning engineer and Primavera expert. After my carefully evaluations, I was very impressed and agreed to use and resell ScheduleReader beside Oracle Primavera software. We have watched how ScheduleReader evolved in time and become one of the best tools for Primavera using companies. I have witnessed that ScheduleReader improved and gained many amazing functionality day by day for project planning world.
Who is this product intended for and what is the interest rate for a software such ScheduleReader in your local market?
- ScheduleReader is well known tool among Primavera users in our local market and has incredibly good reputation.
Can you share some a specific use-cases showing how ScheduleReader is incorporated into the company’s environment and briefly explain the benefits it brings to the project and project team?
- We have a customer who was suffering from collecting the data from site and updating Primavera project progress. They were also having trouble for reporting and distributing project data to their entire team. There was a total mess. We analyzed the situation and designed a solution that works with Oracle Primavera P6 and ScheduleReader together. Now, they have a robust planning system with Oracle Primavera P6, which works smoothly thanks to ScheduleReader update project mode.
Last year, we organized two webinars entirely about ScheduleReader. For more use-cases and details about the software, our readers can watch the recording available on our websites.
ScheduleCleaner is another tool by Synami that works well as a companion tool to Primavera P6 and ScheduleReader. In contrast to the “reader,” the “cleaner” is designed for the scheduler. Can you share your thoughts on this new software product and its implementation within the Primavera P6 environment?
- I have known too many planners who desperately need a tool that can help to clean sensitive or confidential schedule data in Primavera P6 export file for long time. All of us have developed our own ways to remove data from export file, which you do not want to share, including me. Now it is easier than ever! Because ScheduleCleaner really handles it very well and give planners to ultimate control over their exported project schedule data.
In 2022, we will be organizing a joint webinar dedicated to ScheduleCleaner, where we will demonstrate in further details how this new innovative tool can save schedulers’ time, help them keep the P6 database healthy, and ensure the data privacy of schedules throughout distribution. Finally, we’d like to know what are the biggest benefits for the customer as a result of our partnership and how does Synami differentiate itself from other software companies you have collaborated with?
- At the beginning, Synami tools was used to help project planners. Now, it has become a planner’s project viewing, reporting, updating, and schedule quality checking tool itself. Nowadays, our customers are aware of that they can utilize all the benefits ScheduleReader & ScheduleCleaner provide in addition to Oracle Primavera. Finally, the missing piece of puzzle has been found, and project management office needs completely fulfilled.
